I invite YOU to come JOIN our Yahoo! Group
This is the kindest, most caring group of stampers. We are sharing idea, swapping cards, and just having fun. This group of has become more of a "family" than just stamping acquaintances. We are there to support one another. Come and see what fun we are having, look at all the stamped cards and see what other things we are stamping on.

Karen's sore knee update: In February, 2008 I fell on an already sore knee... and for several months had waited for it to get better on it's own. Well.... that never happened. In June I had surgery for a torn medial meniscus. What that means is that they had to go into my knee and fix it. I have been resting for about 2 weeks now and each day gets a little better. Not ready to go dancing.... yet, but hope to sometime soon.

New Watercolor technique

I have been experimenting with various watercolor techniques, trying to make our stamps with all the details look more... watercolor-y. I have several samples in the card gallery that were done by inking my stamp first, then lightly touching it to a damp sponge and then stamping it on the glossy paper. Lovely, unpredictable results.

This Spring I started experimenting with watercolor paper (using the smooth side) and wetting the stamped images after stamping them. The sample to the right is one of my favorites. I first stamped the sky and country road, then using a dry brush inked in a sand inkpad, added color to the road. Then I took a damp brush (just water) and wet first the sky, blending the color, then with a clean damp brush went over the road. Next I used the clean damp brush to dab at the background trees and grass. I inked the trees on either side in greens and using a clean damp brush lightly brushed over the lines of the trees. I continued this process coloring and wetting as I went along. The results are much more predictable, but still with the element of surprise. I cannot control it all and am pleased with the outcome. Below are a few more samples.

Shopping Bags

We are selling nylon bags for all your shopping needs... see the sample (right). They will attach to your purse or belt and hold an amazing 20# of stuff and limit or eliminate the need for plastic OR paper.

Live and learn, plastic bags are polluting our enviroment (and in some places they are (or will be) charging for using these bags at your local grocery store, and paper is not in unlimited supply.

Do your part... choose a bag that can be used over and over again...

Shows
You may have noticed that we do not have any new shows listed for 2008. We are working hard to reach you via the internet, as travel prices soar and many of you are opting to stay home, so are we. But... we are working on videos to demonstrate our newest as well as oldest techniques... bringing us closer together without the need to fly or drive.

Newest Stamps
We are adding new stamps monthly to our category "Newest Stamps" in our online store. As we have a new batch of stamps we move the older ones into their appropriate categories and add in the new ones. However, if you ever do just want to know what is the newest... go to the very end of the list of stamps. As I add new stamps into the store they are always added at the end... even though I put them into separate categories.

More and more kits are coming. I have had so much fun using these kits, mixing and matching, that I am working on new ones to add to our selections.

Wood mounted stamps...

We are fading out wood mounts (except for the mini-stamps and Sky Tool D493). After years of only using wood mounted stamps, in the Spring of 2007 I converted to using the acrylic mounts and cushion with cling vinyl on the stamps. It is easier to store, easier to stamp and weighs less to ship. If you haven't already converted, why not try now. PLUS... we carry the supplies you need to do-it-yourself. Cushion with sticky on one side and cling vinyl on the other plus the right size acrylic blocks for all our images.
