May 2010 - Happy Mother's Day
N80 - Tree Frog (special monthly price good until 6/5/10 - see below)
Step-by-step: (all images/cards reduced)
Step 1:
Ink (N80) Tree Frog in Green and Brown
and stamp it on the very bottom edge (I used glossy cardstock)
Step 2: Ink Tree Frog (N80) again on scrap paper and cut out for mask
Step 3: Put mask over frog to protect the image and stamp the background
Step 4: Ink the Tree Trunks (U3) in Brown and stamp on paper
I tried to blur the image a bit so it would look "out-of-focus"
Don't worry about mistakes
Step 5: Ink Leaves (D574) in Pond Green and stamp and blur over the tree trunks
Step 6: Ink Leaves (J110) in Green and stamp around the Tree Frog
Step 7: Continue...
Step 8: Continue...
The ink is quite wet here and
I have rubbed my finger over the leaf on the right to darken it
so the tree trunks don't show through
Step 9: Here I masked the Tree Frog again so I could put the leaf behind
Step 10: Continue adding leaves
Step 11: Using PITT markers, I colored in the Tree Frog
Step 12: Using some stipple brushes (any brush will do)
I added some background color/texture
Step 13: Finished card...
(I colored in some of the exposed areas around the Tree Frog and over some leaves)
